I’ve told you my woes about my computer crashing but now I want to tell you about the software I use to create my site and how that company has helped me through this crisis.

I use XSitePro website design software

I sent them a support email to let them know my computer had crashed and I’d lost their software. They gave me the code to install the latest version within an hour but then Rob, the guy on the support desk, emailed me to find out how I was getting on with the new install. I told him of my problems. He suggested some very helpful ways I could try to get my website back after my computer crashed. Unfortunately, even though I’d backed up my website every 14 days I did it on my hard drive so the back-ups were corrupted and I couldn’t re-install the easy way.

Rob kept in touch with me for two weeks to find out how I was doing and if he could help.

I don’t know about you but I have never experienced someone from ’support’ from any other service I use to be so ’supportive’ in my time of crisis.

O.K. it’s taught me I should back everything up onto my external hard drive. All I have to do now is to download my website, strip out the content and click a button on XSitePro to get it back into the software.

I’m really pleased with XSitePro website design software because once you’ve learned it, which I found much easier than learning html or programmes like Dreamweaver, you will not find another programme which integrates your website design with your links to uploads and downloads, payment processors, pop-ups, audio, video, affiliate programmes, sign-up autoresponder forms and so much more.

If it’s happened to you you’ll know just how frustrating this is.

Since my computer was repaired I’ve realised that my filing system is rubbish! I’ve got files all over the place (on my desktop hard drive) but can I ever find the one I want? There’s just no logic to the names I’ve given folders. Nor is there any logic to what I’ve put into them! So everything I’m trying to do to get back online is taking me five times longer than it should (I haven’t tested this figure by the way - it’s just a guess).

My websites are designed in XSitePro and I’m still figuring out how to download them from my host and get them back into my software so that I can, at least, update them.

I had just started a membership site when the provider of all the integrated software I was using sadly died so I’ve been testing out new membership software and looking for new suppliers of products.

I’ve tried four Membership Scripts but I never realised how complicated they could be. I won’t tell you the names of the difficult ones because the difficulty might be in me and my inablity to understand the instructions.

But I will tell you that the one I am favouring at the moment is one which is provided by a very famous Marketer and it’s used by many, many people on the Internet. I’m just getting the hang of it but one of the things I love about is that there is a forum with several technical people who see your question, ask you to send the info so they can get into your cpanel, and hey presto! the problem’s solved (and explained).

So, I’m going to make all my sites Membership Sites and that’s what I’m working on at present, and probably will be for the next couple of weeks. If I find the script not too difficult I’ll tell which one it is.
